Upon arrival at the lodge, clients are assigned a guide who will accompany them during the course of their stay. Guides are fluent in spin and fly fishing techniques for all Alaska salmon, trout and grayling. Alaska fly fishing schools are offered to all those interested in pursuing this great sport, or simply honing their fly fishing skills in this Alaska fishing environment. Children's Alaska fly fishing schools are usually offered in late July through mid-August. |
| Species of Fish Caught |
Lake Creek offers all five species of Pacific Salmon running right past your cabin along with beautiful Rainbow Trout and Arctic Grayling in early and late summer. So depending on when you come will determine the fish you will be catching. The Salmon start running in June with Chinook Salmon (King Salmon) leading the charge, followed by Sockeye Salmon in mid July, and then Pink Salmon, Coho Salmon (Silver Salmon), and Chum Salmon in late July through August. Native Rainbow and Grayling fishing is good to excellent starting in late July and reaches peak season by mid-August. Their river is a gravel-bottom river and easily wadeable in most fishing spots. Lake Creek is the ultimate Alaska fly fishing river, but spin fishing is just as effective. |
