Welcome to North America's Original Tugboat Cruise. These are seven-day/six night fishing and cruising adventure aboard a 1941 vintage tugboat with only 8 or 12 guests.
“Follow the Fish” Packages Westwind Tugboat Adventures is North America's most unique fishing resort and one of B.C.'s oldest, established in 1974. They pioneered the concept of “Follow the Fish”. Cruising to some of the most remote areas of the B.C. coast including Langara Island, Prince Rupert and Bella Bella providing you access to the most spectacular scenery, abundant wildlife and the best salmon and halibut fishing the Beautiful Inside Passage has to offer.
Westwind Tugboat’s two meticulously restored heritage tugboats have been exclusively designed for comfortable accommodations and intimate cruising on the calm, scenic waters of the Inside Passage. Westwind guests are pampered daily by a dedicated and friendly crew with tantalizing meals, fine wines, and all the comforts including, state of the art catamaran fishing skiffs, kayaks, fishing licenses, fishing guide, clothing and a huge inventory of tackle. All the catch is expertly cleaned, stored in Westwind's custom blast freezers, and packaged for guests to take home at no charge.
The tugboats anchor daily in quiet, protected coves with the vista of majestic fjords, lush forests and wildlife at their doorstep. Enjoy an outdoor BBQ on a secluded beach, set out on a wilderness hike or explore historical sights. The scenery of B.C.'s coast is spectacular, the fishing is fantastic and a Westwind Tugboat cruise is the best way to explore the coast and see all there is to see on North America's beautiful Inside Passage to Alaska.
“The Great Bear Rainforest Odyssey” Favoring the growing sport of sea kayaking, combined with fishing, Westwind offers a unique wilderness cruise taking paddlers deep into the majestic fjords and secluded waterways of an unspoiled ancient rainforest. Located 350 miles north of Vancouver, B.C., the Great Bear Rain Forest is the ancestral home of the fabled Kermode or spirit bear as well as wolves, grizzlies and eagles, and the traditional summer habitat of the great whales.
Paddling in the wake of the tugboat mother ship, kayakers are thrilled by lush vegetation, thundering waterfalls, and breathtaking mountain scenery as they meander through peaceful waters cloaked in the hush of a great rainforest. Mother Nature is at her best and the waters teem with silvery Pacific salmon beginning their heroic journey to their native streams followed by marauding grizzlies, wolves and eagles.
Anglers are supplied with all necessary fishing tackle, skiffs and guide as they are wined and dined in luxury aboard a restored 85-foot classic tugboat to enjoy all the splendors of one of the last great wilderness areas of the world.
