   Overview

Idaho fly fishing at Teton Valley Lodge for the past 88 years has become a tradition of providing quality dry fly fishing for tens of thousands of fishermen in Idaho. Fly fishing outfitters on the three top dry fly rivers, South Fork of the Snake, Teton and Henry's Fork, TVL has always focused on the dry fly. They operate on the old tradition of offering great fly fishing guides, great fishing cabins and great food.

Teton Valley Lodge guides are the best in Idaho and fly fishing is their passion. Some have been guiding with Teton Valley Lodge 20 years or more. They know the rivers and respect guests. Their number one goal is to guide their fly fishermen into the largest and the most fish they have ever seen.

Fly fishing guides are excellent fly fishermen who spend their entire waking time fly fishing or thinking about fly fishing. They guide only for Teton Valley Lodge in Idaho. Each new guide spends over a month being trained by a senior guide on each of the lodge’s stretches before they guide it. Fly fishing knowledge is very important, and guides know the exact conditions of each stretch every day on the entire 30 float and wade trips on the South Fork of the Snake, Teton and Henry's Fork. Teton Valley Lodge guarantees guides will be respectful and courteous everyday; they will give you 110% on the river.

Teton Valley Lodge’s Experience as an Idaho Fly Fishing Lodge
Teton Valley Lodge has been around since 1919, longer than any other fly fishing lodge in the West. It has been a family operation for 88 years. No other outfitter in the country can make this boast. They must be doing something right. That is, giving guests the finest dry fly fishing they have ever experienced anywhere in the world. Teton Valley Lodge’s guides responsibility and purpose on the river is to have you catch as many fish as you possibly can, period.

Day after day this past season, the lodge had guests say they had the best guides of any fly fishing lodge. Teton Valley Lodge is very proud of their guides and takes great lengths to ensure they are the most trained and experienced guides in the West. You'll find that TVL guides measure up to the highest standard set in the industry.

The 2006 season was full of consistently good fly fishing; the lodge averaged about 60 fish per day for every two fishermen sent out. There are some very important reasons for this:

Teton Valley Lodge offers 30 different fishing trips on three of the top rivers in the west. They have the best guides in the world. These guys work hard all day every day. Knowing that fish feed on something everyday of the year, guides give the fish (and guests) what they want every day. They don't except slow fly fishing.

Lodge guests are supplied by guides with approximately 100 dozen trout-crushing flies each day. They have every conceivable pattern fish could want. You don't have to bring any of your own flies or buy an assortment of flies, which may or may not work, every day before going out on the river. Guides are never short of what it takes to “murder ‘em”.

Teton Valley Lodge has the number one dry fly river in the world, the South Fork of the Snake. Followed by the finest spring creek and canyon fishing on the Teton River and the world famous Henry's Fork of the Snake, just north of the lodge. These are the “Golden Three” of fly fishing in the West. They offer the most diverse fly fishing available anywhere in the world.

TVL has dry fly fishing from May 25th right on through the rest of the season when the lodge closes on October 12th. No one offers consistent dry fly fishing like this for so long a season. From the Salmon Fly hatch and clear May waters, to the cast and blast of October, TVL is one great fly fishing lodge.

Cabins, located on the banks of the Teton River, are outstanding. Nothing is spared to make them welcoming and refined. Teton Valley Lodge offers one, two, and three-bedroom elite cabins to meet your every need. Bring your wife and family and expect to be extremely comfortable at the lodge as well as on the river.

The tackle shop carries Patagonia, Simms, Abel, Sage Rods, Galvan Reels, Rio Fly Lines and an assortment of clothing to make your fishing experience enjoyable.

After a wonderful day of fly fishing, the lodge awaits with gourmet meals for breakfast and dinner. Chef Eric is a master of all things culinary. Guests rave about the food. The only complaint the lodge ever has is that “there is too much food”.

Due to little rain in the summer, most of the lodge’s water comes from snow run-off. Thus, they average less than one half day of fishing missed a season because of bad weather. With three rivers, and thirty floats, not only will your fishing be amazing, each day will leave you with lasting impressions.

Teton Valley Lodge is a full-service Idaho fly fishing lodge ready to assist you for your entire fly fishing needs!
