Overview
Plummer’s Arctic Fishing Lodges started as a one-cabin operation in 1939. It was the dream of Chummy Plummer, Sr., and his son Warren, to fly people into virgin water where the fishing for trophy Lake Trout is unmatched. They discovered angler’s paradises in the waters of Great Slave Lake and Great Bear Lake, and built the first fly in fishing lodges in the Arctic. Today, with over 60 years of experience, they are still unsurpassed in the north for record-breaking fishing and first-class service. Grandson Chummy Plummer continues the tradition of providing the fishing trip of a lifetime for guests.
Guides are well trained, experienced, and knowledgeable, but most importantly, they are personally dedicated to making your fishing experience superb. This is true of all the lodge staff. They have an amazing, diverse, and amicable group of people that return to Plummer’s Lodges on Great Slave Lake and Great Bear Lake each summer.
A day at Plummer’s begins when a pot of coffee is quietly delivered to your doorstep early every morning to get you started. A hot breakfast is then served in the dining room at 7:30. Your guide will be waiting for you at the dock after breakfast. The 18-foot aluminum boats have a closed bow with cushioned seats for your comfort. Each boat is powered by a 30-horsepower Mercury motor. You may choose to fish for trophy Lake Trout, loads of Arctic Grayling, the majestic Arctic Char, or the savage Northern Pike. Whether you like to troll big spoons, drift jig, spin cast, or fly fish, Plummer’s has the tackle, the expertise, and the world-class fishing.
At the end of your day of fishing, you may choose to join the group in the lodge for a game of pool, or sit next to the fire with new and old friends while gazing out at your Arctic surroundings. Dinner is served at 7:30pm. It begins with the aroma of freshly baked break seeping in from the kitchen. The food is always excellent and plentiful, with a menu ranging from prime rib roast to Baked Alaska.
A good night’s rest is important when you are fishing for enormous Lakers in the fresh Arctic air. Unbelievable as it may seem in this remote wilderness, you will enjoy clean, heated, detached, or motel-style cabins, modern plumbing, electricity, hot showers, and good beds.
Plummer’s Arctic Fishing Lodges does not print unrealistic fishing expectations in terms of number of fish caught per day or the size of the fish. Their waters hold the All Tackle World Records for Lake Trout, Arctic Grayling, and Arctic Char. They were not swimming alone! They have been successful for over 60 years because of outstanding fishing and service. Join Plummer’s and let them live up to their reputation for you.
