Shawn, Amanda and Newest Family Member Samuel
The Gurke family have been involved in the Canadian Angling Tourism Industry for the past 20 years, exceeding client expectations every step of the way. Owning and operating a resource-based company in such a remote location has presented unique challenges, yet our dedicated team of professionals accomplishes the formidable task season after season. With input from our loyal customers, we’ve built world-class facilities in a sub-Arctic angler’s paradise that’s yours to enjoy!
Shawn Gurke is a second-generation owner and operator of Nueltin Fly-In Lodges. His father Garry purchased the operation in 1987, so Shawn grew up learning the intricacies of running a fishing lodge under the watchful eye of his father. With Shawn at the helm, Garry now owns a flying service out of Lynn Lake, Manitoba that meets the needs of the north country by chartered aircraft.
Shawn and his wife Amanda work side by side in the daily operation of Nueltin Lodges. Amanda works tirelessly on virtually every behind the scenes activity from handling all the books and billing to ordering food and other supplies. If you have a question about the surrounding country and wildlife, Amanda is the one to ask.
Together, Shawn and Amanda offer a level of customer service that is an extension of their warm, genuine personalities. They are very in-tune with their excellent staff and definitely lead by example. You will appreciate their efforts to make every day at Nueltin both special and rewarding.
During the winter months, Shawn and Amanda take care of business from Nueltin’s winter office and home in Alonsa, Manitoba.
