Overview
Northern Woods Lodge - the newest resort in Northwestern Ontario, is an excellent choice for group or corporate fishing trips. With over 20 years of experience hosting fishermen and hunters from many countries, Terry and Lorna Wood recognized the demand for a high quality, smaller resort that offers extraordinary service - so they built one. This new resort offers guests a remote, peaceful experience with all the amenities.
Northern Woods Lodge has been built to accommodate only 24 guests to ensure top quality, personal service - but once its full - its full, so don't miss out on this opportunity. All first time guests will have first option to re-book for the following year. This is an excellent chance to secure a vacation destination for years to come. Imagine being one of the first anglers to this new resort in an unspoiled area with hundreds of miles of shoreline and dozens of lakes that have seldom been fished.
The Lake Northern Woods Lodge is located on the south end of Long Lake. Long Lake stretches from the resort’s location north approximately 50 miles, although quite narrow. It is large enough to keep the most adventurous interested and narrow enough for the less experienced to navigate. Long Lake is well known for its trophy walleye, northern, wild brook trout and lake trout. South of the lodge is approximately 30 miles of river. During the construction of the new resort, Terry and Lorna just had to sneak away from time to time and try some fishing themselves. The fishing here is awesome!
The Lodge The lodge is located on a peninsula, surrounded with the breathtaking views of 1500' cliffs across the lake. It is 36 miles north of Terrace Bay, Ontario. (Terrace Bay is approximately 140 miles east of Thunder Bay or 300 miles west of Sault Ste. Marie.) Northern Woods Lodge is very secluded, with its closest neighbor being 30 miles away. The new main lodge building is beautiful and is situated on the point, surrounded on three sides by water. The main lodge offers guests a dining room, television and gathering area, and the office. This is a large building that can also facilitate meetings or gatherings. A satellite phone service is available in the lodge if communication with the outside world is needed - although inconvenient enough that the outside world won't contact you unless necessary.
