Overview
The Ultimate in Trophy Fly-In Fishing In the heart of Manitoba, amidst the beauty of the Canadian wilderness, lies the ultimate in trophy fly-in fishing - Molson Lake Lodge. With three species of trophy sized fish - Northern, Walleye, and Lake Trout - complemented by unsurpassed service, it is no wonder guests of Molson Lake Lodge are 90% repeat or referral. The American Plan main lodge on Molson Lake offers world-class fishing along with all the amenities of a five-star resort. The staff will assure that your stay in "God's Country" will be in "first-class" comfort.
For over 20 years, Molson Lake Lodge has enforced the catch and release program - and it's working! 2008 was one of the best fishing years the lodge can remember. As of mid July 2008, 80% of guests at Molson had caught a Master Angler Walleye! That turned out to be three times as many Master Angler Walleye as they caught in all of 2007!! This is a record amount of trophy Walleye and remember... with three species of trophy-sized fish to go after, guests were catching all these trophy Walleye in only a few hours out of each day. The average size in all three species was way above normal.
For over 30 years, Molson Lake has been known as one of the top Northern Pike lakes in Manitoba. Northerns will average between 6-8 lb. with trophies being caught up to 50 inches long! Walleye fishing is what brings a lot of repeat customers coming back year after year. They now average between 4-5 lb. with trohpies being caught up to 32 inches long! Lake Trout are a nice bonus fish that will average between 6-8 lb. with trophies being caught up to 40 inches long! All Northern must be released, Walleye over 22" must be released, and Lake Trout over 26" must be released. Molson Lake Lodge asks that you photograph your trophy, release it, and fill your "take home" limit (four Walleye and one Lake Trout) with "eating size" fish. By releasing larger fish, you help propagate the species. Conservation is further enhanced by the use of barbless hooks, which is now mandatory in Manitoba. The results speak for themselves, as every season guests break new records for average size and number of Master Angler Northerns, Walleye, and Lake Trout.
With over 30 years of experience, Molson Lake Lodge has streamlined their operation to eliminate any problems associated with transportation to and from Winnipeg, and from the Main Lodge to Outpost Camps. To assist guests in Winnipeg before and after their trip, the lodge has a Winnipeg Coordinator to greet and help in any way needed. Outpost guests will find, upon arrival at Molson Lake Lodge, their fishing licenses ready to sign, food and beverage order (included in price) loaded on the float plane, and pilot ready to go.
Molson Lake Lodge Outpost Camp guests have come to expect great service and world-class fishing while at remote outpost locations. Every season, Max Lake guests catch and release more 45 inch plus Pike than any other lake in Manitoba. Max Lake held the Manitoba all-time Northern Pike record from 1992-2004. The monster was caught and released in '92 and it was 59 in. long! Longer than the World's Record! Kurt Haverland caught a 48 inch Northern and an amazing 50 inch HAWG in a two-day period in mid August of 2008 at Max Lake. Max Lake is Manitoba's Premier Northern Pike Lake. In addition to Max, guests can also fish four other lakes that can be navigated by boat or portage. One of these lakes include LOGAN LAKE, which is one of Manitoba's hottest new lakes for Trophy Pike. Guests catch hundreds of Master Angler Northerns (41 inches or longer) every season and have caught them up to 59 inches! There is also fast action fishing for Walleye's that will average around 3 lb. and up to 28 inches long. Little Bolton Lake is Molson's newest Outpost Camp. It had never been sport fished before they set up a camp there four years ago. The quantity of fish you will catch while at Little Bolton is astounding. Guests catch more 30-40 inch Northerns at Little Bolton than any of the other lakes. The Walleye fishing is non-stop! Most people catch all the Walleye they want while trying to catch Northern. Little Bolton Lake is full of structure - most fishermen find Walleye around every corner. The Walleye will average between 2-3 lb. with trophies being caught up to 26". The Northerns will average between 5-6 lb. with trophies being caught up to 46 inches! Molson Lake Lodge has had guests that have had 50 inchers on in the past couple of seasons, but could not get them in the boat.
Molson Lake Lodge has hosted over 22,000 fishermen since 1977, of which 90% are repeat or referral. Thirty years of continued service and quality fishing are yours.
