| Fishing Information |
There are thousands of miles of great Wyoming fly fishing rivers, yet many lodges are located near just two or three and usually focus on fishing different parts of the same rivers.
The real beauty of The Lodge at Jackson Fork Ranch is that it's situated within an hour's drive to dozens of different rivers and lakes. All offering different kinds of fishing and different kinds of trout. The Upper Hoback River even runs right through the ranch property.
The Lodge at Jackson Fork Ranch is proud to partner with Two Rivers Emporium to provide guide and outfitter services to guests. And why did they choose Two Rivers above all the others? Two words: local guides. All of their guides have either grown up in the area or lived here for many years. Aside from being excellent fly fishermen, their intimate knowledge of the area, the waters, and the trout that inhabit them make them a special asset to a successful and satisfying angling experience.
“The difference between fly fishers and worm dunkers is the quality of their excuses.” — Anonymous
THE UPPER HOBACK & HOBACK RIVERS Both offer a variety of excellent angling opportunities with lots of riffles, runs and pools.
THE GREEN RIVER You can wade and float this easily accessible river for 30 to 40 miles above the Flaming Gorge Dam with plenty of room to find your own special spot. This river is also one of the native waters for the Colorado River Cutthroat.
NEW FORK RIVER Smaller than the Green, this controlled-flow river offers both drift and wade fishing for Brown, Rainbow, and Brook trout — plus another opportunity to find Colorado Cutthroat.
FISH CREEK & BEAR CREEK Just two of a dozen smaller wading streams where the lodge can offer private access for the serious angler in search of the quiet and undiscovered.
OTHER STREAMS & RIVERS The lodge basically has relatively easy access to a variety of exciting waters and depending on the season, conditions and the type of fish or fishing you’re looking for, they can take you to the best place to find it.
GREEN RIVER LAKE As its name implies, this is the headwaters of the Green River and an excellent — and beautiful — place for some great stillwater fishing and slow water fishing.
FREMONT LAKE Just south of the Ranch and north of Pinedale, Fremont is a fairly large lake that offers a variety of exciting fishing.
BRIDGER WILDERNESS LAKES There are what the lodge calls about ten “larger” lakes in this area, but another 1300 smaller lakes dot this remote mountain wildness that offer great backcountry fishing along the majestic Wind River Range. |
| Species of Fish Caught |
The Cutthroat Trout is the only native trout species in Wyoming. For that reason the Wyoming Game and Fish Department developed a program to recognize anglers who catch each of the four sub-species of cutthroats — Bonneville, Colorado River, Yellowstone and Snake River Cutthroat. It's called the Wyoming Cutt-Slam. |
