Spring is the time of big hatches, big rainbows, and small mouth runs. As summer sets in, look more to the brook trout and bows in the higher streams for mid-day action, and fish the bigger rivers on either end of the day. Fall fishing in Vermont brings some great hatches and very active brown trout, as they move out of the big rivers into the tributaries to spawn. It's quite a sight to see a 20" hook-jawed brown slam a parachute adams meant for an 8" brookie.
