   Our Mission

Our Mission We host and welcome discriminating adults who appreciate quality service, unique accommodations and fine cuisine in a secluded yet accessible setting. The Lodge staff has a long and successful record of providing the highest quality experience for guests, are thoroughly knowledgeable of the region and fluent in all the requests, questions and needs that guests to this part of the world have.

The Guides:

Bob Brent - Bob Brent, a fourth generation Montanan was raised in Helena. He spent 15 years in sales and marketing before escaping the corporate world and returning to Montana. He is a full time guide and fly tier and now lives in Helena, spending most of each summer guiding the rivers near the Gallatin River Lodge.

Ryan T. Eisfeldt - Ryan was raised in the Midwest and started fishing with his father when he was old enough to hold a rod. During the summer they would travel up to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area in Canada as well as, down to Arkansas to fish the White and Norfork Rivers for Trout. Ryan attended Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff and graduated with a degree in Environmental Science and Biology. After working in landscape ecology lab for a year after graduation Ryan relocated to Southwest Montana to work in and around Yellowstone National Park. Ryan has dedicated his summers to guiding and his winters to rare carnivore research. Ryan would love to take you down one of our productive local rivers in his beautiful and comfortable hand built wooden drifter, or walk and wade to get you hooked into a wild trout and let you know a little about the natural history of the area.

J.B. Stewart - John B. (J.B.) Stewart is a seasoned guide with fishing experience from Florida to the rivers of the Rockies. His knowledge of the hatches and waters of southwest Montana comes from over three decades of fishing. He is also a master cabinetmaker and rod builder and lives with his wife Laura and two sons near Bozeman.

Tracy Blashill - Tracy Blashill began guiding fly fishermen in 1987 on Colorado’s Gunnison River. Since then, guiding has lead Tracy throughout the American west and northwest, Alaska, Kamchatka and Mongolia. Tracy’s favorite waters are here in southwestern Montana. He and his wife Alice, three dogs and three cats live near Bozeman.

Paul Zitzer - Paul has been an avid Montana fisherman and hunter for the past two decades. He enjoys sharing his Montana experience with our clients. He lives in nearby Gallatin Gateway on a small ranch with his partner Laura, two dogs and nine horses.

   Guest Testimonials

Guest Testimonials "We would highly recommend this Lodge for anyone. We usually do not return to the same place on vacations (we are usually a ‘been there, done that’ type couple) but we will return to this lodge. It was simply perfect. The guides are terrific and the food was the best." - Steve & Resa Labossiere, Budapest, Hungary

"Thanks again for a wonderful vacation. We had such a wonderful time and will always treasure the special memories from our stays at the lodge. The fishing was the best we have ever seen. A special thanks to your staff for all the extra care. Looking forward to seeing you again. " - James & Denise Rudolf, Madison, New Jersey

"Steve can match personalities and agendas like no one else. If you want to bring the whole family, or come by yourself, Gamble, can arrange a trip that's just right for you." - Edward Pittman, ClubCorp's Private Clubs Magazine
