The Complete Fly Fisher located on the banks of the Big Hole River, near the small town of Wise River, Montana, was established in 1972 and has been dedicated to caring for anglers from across the globe since then. They offer superbly guided fly fishing excursions on the Big Hole as well as other Southwest Montana rivers, epicurean dining at anglers hours, spacious and private accommodations, as well as service endlessly refined in the never ending pursuit of perfection.
Their service specializes in fly fishing instructions for beginners and experts alike. The guide staff has well over 100 years of combined experience in hunting trout and teaching the fine art of fly fishing. The lodge provides all the necessary equipment at no charge to anglers, as well as a fly shop stocked with the finest gear available. Whether caring for a corporate group on a retreat, couples, families or single anglers each week is tailored for a perfect fit.
Complete Fly Fisher’s primary method of angling is “float fishing”. They use Avon rafts with frames equipped with swivel, bucket seats. The guides are all highly skilled boatmen and have CPR/ First Aid certification. All appropriate safety gear is employed and along. Although floating provides the perfect angling platform, many guests prefer to wade fish during guided outings. Choosing between floating and or wading can be done on the spur of the moment. River conditions may dictate how and when to float or wade.
The menus created by their Chef are crafted to match the guest list, and any special request is handled seamlessly. All meals are served at angler’s hours as to not interfere with prime angling time. The Complete Fly Fisher has set the culinary standard in the destination fly fishing industry for over 30 years.

The angling menu is as varied as the dining options. In addition to fishing the Big Hole that runs by the lodge, they travel to the Beaverhead, Missouri, Madison, Jefferson rivers as well as Rock Creek. Also, they fish many smaller streams, private ponds and several lakes. Your angling itinerary will be developed to match your angling desire and current conditions.
From airport to airport, the staff is completely dedicated to fulfilling your every need in a breathtaking, mountain paradise. Besides chasing trout with a fly, Complete Fly Fisher offers scenic horseback riding, challenging golf at a Jack Nicholas signature course 40 minutes away, and fully guided historic/nature tours. All offered in a relaxing setting complimented by amenities and hospitality normally reserved for royalty.
